Travelin' light

The pressure of an opening sentence. An image that is sure to hook the reader. A collection or words that inexorably draw them in. A requisite artfully dodged by misdirection in hopes that you'll ignore the lack of immediate content and read on out of sheer curiosity. So, do I have your attention? At least for a moment?

Good...

To begin, Merry Christmas! It's only one day late after all, and my small experience of the hustle and bustle of the holiday provided the very muse from which these thoughts flow forth. One night, one hour, one simple revelation: Travel light.

In short, I looked around and saw a myriad of chains. I'm a nomad, not really a settler. Though I may take up residence for a significant time somewhere in this world, the world itself is a place I'm merely passing through. Most of the things I want tend to be in service to self rather than Savior, agents of bondage rather than those of freedom. Travel light. There is nothing wrong with filling needs, or owning nice things. But choose wisely and carry only what you need lest you find you can no longer travel at all.
